This is the home page of the MATCH-MPIC Chemical Weather Forecast System. Click on the links below to get to the predicted distributions of important trace gases in the atmosphere, or to obtain more information about the forecasting system. |
|
Standard Forecast Figures |
The forecasts compute the global 3D distributions of a wide array of gases; daily plots are made automatically for the global distributions of key gases at the surface and selected pressure levels, as well as specific to current and upcoming field campaigns (upon request) |

MATCH- MPIC |
The chemical weather forecasts employ the global 3D chemistry-meteorology model known as MATCH-MPIC (Model of Atmospheric Transport and Chemistry - Max Planck Institue for Chemistry version). |
| Aerosol Forecasts |
A sister system which computes forecasted global aerosol distributions has been developed and is maintained by Phil Rasch and Bill Collins of NCAR, who also perform the pre-processing of the NCEP data which is used in our forecasts. |
